The summer season in the UAE sometimes feels like one continuous, steamy haze. The first thing that jumps to everybody's mind when you mention Dubai in summer is the heat ! Which month is actually the hottest, June, July or August ? Keep reading to find out !
Dubai Weather in the Summer
In the summer, the temperature may reach as high as 50°C (113°F). During this time, humidity is at its highest level. The days can be very hot to venture outside. However, there are still many ways to enjoy the city throughout the summer as the city is built to withstand high temperatures.
June is considered as a hot month. Maximum temperature of 38°C, which is fairly hot. During this month, one can expect significant humidity levels with sunlight lasting for 10 to 12 hours a day.
It would be an understatement to say that Dubai is scorching in July. The temperature was quite high. During the day, it is normal to experience scorching heat with daylight lasting up to 12 hours a day. According to the Met office, discovered that the hottest temperature recorded in the UAE was in July 2023 for the first time. The temperatures reached a toasty 50°C threshold with hot, dusty conditions.
The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology collected data from 1977 to 2022. In their findings it shows that the temperature indicators peak in August. In short, August is the Hottest month in Dubai.
The maximum mean humidity is 75.4% in June , 72.9% in July and 72.1% in August and 79% in September. That's why September can often feel just as oppressive as August when it comes to heat.
The good news is that Dubai experiences little to no rain during the summer. The bad news; expect to spend most of your days inside. Things do pick up in the evenings, but anything outdoors is still likely to bring on an immediate sweat. For this reason, crowds often thin out during the summer, even though air conditioning is plentiful and inexpensive.
